Used to be nice on Christmas day. And the pool room used to be great fun for aspiring grunge band 'Nectar' back in the early-mid nineties. Think Messrs Fulbrook, Thomas, Gibbs and Hockman still hold some sort of record for the longest pool game ever, with the aid of 3 pairs of socks. Aint been there for a while but I believe that people play Darts.

Went to a party and got off my head on cider JD and Tenants Super at the age of 14, then went to the fair and bought a fiver lag off a bigger boy. Didn't get a snog though! If you sit out front on a Summer weekend you may see someone famous get married at the church just over the other side of the Bury! Small little pub, just popped in for 1 recently on a Friday afternoon and was welcoming enough, possibly worth further investigation for a nice quiet jar or 2.

My first pub memories are of this place, avoiding the monsters under the trap doors, scalding my be-shorted childhood legs on the plastic hippo's in the back garden in the summer. Quality has been patchy over the last few years, the obligatory Antipodean / eastern European staff, But the vines in the porch out front are nice in the summer, and the log fire is nice in the winter. Some good beers, and still has the feel of a genuine country pub, with pretty reasonable grub.

Country pub, don't think they've turned it into a gastro-trendy-pub yet, but there's still time. A decent pint of Guinness last time I attended on my way to a party at Rotherwick village hall.
